‘I work on private jets – passengers throw very wild parties and get half naked’

Private jets are generally a form of transport only for the lucky few – celebrities, politicians and heads of state plus those with more money than sense.

Buying a private aircraft can cost millions while even chartering one for a single trip could cost tens of thousands.

But, those who usually rent the jets are used to luxury and privacy.

Plus, it seems, making unusual demands from the crew – even the pilots in charge.

A female private jet pilot claims she was asked to make her plane “dance” for a group of rowdy passengers, reports the MailOnline.

A pilot and a flight attendant, who have both worked in the private jet industry, have opened up about life aboard the luxury form of transport.

They exposed some of the rowdy – and sometimes rude – behaviour their wealthy passengers would partake in.

On one flight the pilot was asked to “make the plane oscillate up and down so the bouncing movement would help with their dancing”.

On another occasion the flight attendant she was working with came into the cockpit and ask if the pilot could leave the controls to dance with those aboard.

Male passengers would regularly “get excited” when they spotted a female pilot flying the plane, she claimed.

Flight attendants were also subject to bizarre and unprofessional requests, including being asked to strap in every passenger onboard – including a small dog.

The flight attendant claimed that strangest thing she’d been asked was to not look a set of passengers in the eye or talk to them. Instead, all communication went through their personal assistant.

But, not all passengers are CEO’s, celebs and royal family.

On one flight the pilot wasn’t employed to ferry about the well to do however, but to head to an airstrip in Australia to pick up a prisoner who was being extradited to the US.

The convict was walked to the plane surrounded by three officers, something that the pilot found “a little unnerving”.

Another occupational hazard for those working in the industry is walking in on the clients in compromising positions.

During one flight the cabin crew member noticed the call light had rung, prompting her to head into their section.

“However, when I opened the door I realised that it probably wasn’t their fingers that had hit the button as they were writhing around half naked,” she said.

The pilot said parties onboard the planes are a regular occurrence and that they often get “very wild”.

It is not uncommon for guests to be helped off the planes by flight attendants after they’ve indulged too much, she claimed.

While the passengers may have their limits when it comes to being able to walk straight after downing drinks, when it comes to spending cash there are no such restraints.

The pilot said hiring her jet costs between £3,200 to £6,400 an hour to charter, meaning a trip from London to New York costs around £80,000 once fees and catering are taken into account.

The flight attendant said she’s had clients spend £800,000 a month on jets.

This is easily done once the Champagne order and request for a supercar to pick them up on the runway are taken into account.

While the obnoxious behaviour of guests isn’t ideal, one perk of the job for flight attendants are the tips, which can hit £1,500 for a single flight.
