Spurs hailed for ‘showing balls’ by fearlessly going toe-to-toe with Man City

Tottenham Hotspur 'showed some balls' in their thrilling 3-3 draw with Manchester City according to former Premier League winner Chris Sutton.

Despite looking like they were headed for a defeat thanks to Jack Grealish's first league goal of the season in the 81st minute, Ange Postecoglou's men kept pushing for an equaliser and they were rewarded for their efforts as Dejan Kulusevski's header proved no match for Ederson in the 90th minute.

The tie condemned Pep Guardiola's side to a third draw in a row while Tottenham ended their three-match losing streak at the Etihad Stadium.

Tottenham's efforts to grab a winner in the final minutes were praised by Chris Sutton who paid tribute to the North London "showing some balls" when taking on the three-time consecutive league champions. The former Chelsea striker took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his thoughts.

"All the jabs from pundits and commentators about Tottenham and their naive brand of football… everyone is entitled to their opinion but it’s refreshing someone going up against Manchester City and showing some balls and belief," he wrote before adding "Well played Ange Postecoglou and Spurs".
