Sidemen charity match star Konstantin lost 25kg in five months just to play

The furious one! John Fury flips out at Tommy Fury and KSI press conference

The Sideman charity match will feature an internet star who has lost 25kgs in weight during the last five months just to be able to take part. Videographer and video director Konstantin Ermakov was set a weight loss challenge to play for the YouTube All-Stars team, who will take on KSI and his friends in a charity match on Saturday.

Seen as the ultimate battle of internet streamers, bragging rights are on the line as the two sides battle it out at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Last year the charity match broke a Guinness World Record for the most-viewed live sports event broadcast on YouTube.

More importantly the match raised £1million for charities and this year’s game will hope to raise a similar amount. The money will go to Teenage Cancer Trust, CALM, M7 Education and Rays of Sunshine.

With internet streamers set to receive a boost to their popularity by competing in the match, spots have been at a premium. Konstantin was revealed as the final player in the YouTube All-Stars squad in a video posted on Twitter from the Sidemen account.

He said in the post: “Earlier this year I asked the Sidemen if I could play at this year’s charity match and they set me a big goal. They said ‘if your weight starts with an eight you can touch grass’.

“Five months later and 25 kilogrammes down I’ve met my target.” Konstantin is a Russian-born film-maker and owns IKON Films. He is known for directing the content of Sidemen and music videos for the likes of Skepta.
