Man Utd swap deal, Liverpool £30m talks, Tottenham in race for winger

Seven Man Utd transfers Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants answers for as trio set for January exits

Premier League clubs are preparing for the January transfer window, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City expected to be on the lookout for new players as they chase title honours. The Gunners and the Reds both picked up another three points during the midweek round of fixtures, while the Citizens were defeated by Aston Villa.

Arsenal are now two points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table following a last-minute 4-3 victory over Luton on Tuesday night. And boss Mikel Arteta will want to strengthen in a few key areas to give his side the best chance of lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time in over two decades.

Manchester City could also do with reinforcements following their 1-0 defeat to Villa. The Citizens allowed some of their star players to depart in the summer and currently look a shadow of the side they were during their treble-winning endeavours of the last campaign.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have picked up form and are now just three points behind City following a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night. The Red Devils have been linked with a whole host of players in January and could pull out the chequebook to keep their top four hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, Tottenham, Villa and Newcastle will also be keen to strengthen their squads. So follow the Express Sport live transfer blog below for all the latest updates throughout the day.

Man Utd swap deal

Manchester United are lining up a swap deal with Borussia Dortmund, according to Sport Bild. Dortmund are keen to get their hands on out-of-favour Red Devils winger Jadon Sancho after he previously starred for the club. And talented Netherlands winger Donyell Malen could make the move in the opposite direction.

Malen is now represented by Maikel Stevens, whose agency SEG negotiated Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Old Trafford. And Stevens wants to take Malen to England.
