Manchester United are set to swoop for two teenage Brazilian wonderkids in a deal that could cost the club around £100million.

United scouts recently travelled to South America, where they were impressed by two 17-year-old prodigies and have earmarked the teenagers as potential targets for the club.

Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme and Flamengo’s Lorran caught the eye of United scouts and means the Red Devils could inject some South America talent into Erik ten Hag’s side.

Guilherme is a Brazilian U-20 international and has become a regular in Palmeiras’ first team, while Lorran has starred for Brazil’s U-17 side.

However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United could face competition from several European clubs who have also been watching the young Brazilians.

Erik ten Hag could add two South American wonderkids to his Manchester United squad

Lorran has made four appearances for Flamengo and is part of the Brazil U-17 set up

Romano said on his YouTube channel: ‘Keep an eye also on Manchester United in South America because in recent weeks Manchester United, as I told you, sent their scouts, as well as Chelsea, to follow Lorran from Flamengo, this talented Brazilian boy.

‘Man Utd scouts were in attendance to follow this player. But from what I’m hearing, there is also one more player being monitored by Manchester United.

‘This is Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, one more Brazilian talent. Someone from Manchester United’s scouting department is travelling around Brazil to keep an eye on these players.

‘Let’s see what is going to happen because, for example, on Luis Guilherme there are more than five important European clubs – from Germany, from England, from different countries – so, work in progress on that one. But let’s see what Man Utd will decide to do because they are scouting many players also in South America.’

Teenage star Alejandro Garnacho could be joined at United by two more South American stars

If United are to land the pair, they may have to lay out a transfer of fee of nearly £100m. With Mundo Deportivo reporting that Guilherme has a £52m release clause in his contract, and Lorran similar £43m buyout price.

Lorran has played four times for Flamengo, scoring once and recently netted for Brazil’s U-17 side against England.

While Guilherme made his debut for Palmeiras in April and is currently part of Brazil’s U-20 set-up.

The Red Devils got a much-needed win this past weekend as Scott McTominay scored an injury time brace to beat Brentford at Old Trafford.
