Kulusevski risks Tottenham fans’ wrath by ranking Arsenal flop above Spurs icon

Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski risked their fans' wrath as he rated Arsenal flop Willian higher than Gareth Bale.

The 23-year-old Swede was asked to pick his top five Premier League wingers of all-time in an interview with TNT Sports prior to linking up with his country for international duty. After giving it some thought, he kicked off with Bale – who registered 129 goal contributions in 236 games across his two spells with the north London club – in fifth place.

"His body, I have never seen something like this before, he had an unbelievable shot, he could dribble past players, play a lot of positions and score a lot of goals. Unbelievable left foot and an unbelievable player," said Kulusevski.

As well as the Champions League, TNT Sports will also be offering sports fans access to games across the Premier League, Europa League, Serie A and much more.

He then rather shockingly named Willian in fourth. The Brazilian was a key fixture in a Chelsea side which won two Premier Leagues, an FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League, twice being named their player of the year.

He was far less impressive after a 2020 transfer to Spurs' arch rivals Arsenal though, but has looked better since joining Fulham last year.

Justifying his selection, Kulusevski said: "He still plays today, unbelievable player, underrated. Very good to watch him always and I've played against him also."

But that didn't wash with several Tottenham fans, with one reacting: "Willian ahead of Bale. Just picking Willian is criminal. We’ll be having words, Dejan…"

A second exclaimed: "HE PUT WHO OVER BALE????" While a third echoed: "He put WHO at 4th???!!! And over BALE!!!???" And a fourth admitted: "I usually defend Kulusevski when he gets stick but this one I can’t defend…"

After ruling out Ryan Giggs and David Beckham as he hadn't seen much of him in action, Kulusevski continued his list with Mohamed Salah in third.

"Every season he scores at least 20, 25 goals with 20 assists. He's an unbelievable player and year after year you can see how hard he works. He's a great player and one of the best in the history of the Premier League," he said.

Second he gave to former Juventus team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, adding: "He's a great friend and a fantastic football player. He's one of the greatest players of all time. I have huge respect for him."

And then he once again did himself no favours with the Spurs faithful as he picked another ex-Chelsea man – Eden Hazard – for the top spot.

Kulusevski concluded: "He has been my favourite player since I was young and he made me happy – he made everybody happy by watching him play because he was just a joy, like a child playing football, dribbling, scoring and assisting.

"Of course I watched him a lot so some movements and turns with the ball I try to copy him as much as I can even though I'm much taller and it's a little bit more difficult."
