Jadon Sancho ‘refuses to meet Ten Hag’ as Man Utd have four reasons to axe star

Manchester United star Jadon Sancho reportedly refuses to meet manager Erik ten Hag when asked to do so. It is also claimed the winger’s reluctance to play on the right wing is one of four reasons why his spell at Old Trafford has turned sour.

Sancho was one of England’s great hopes when he left Borussia Dortmund for United in the summer of 2021. However, he has been unable to replicate the form he showed in the Bundesliga.

Last weekend saw the biggest falling out so far when Ten Hag revealed the 23-year-old was left out of the squad to play Arsenal due to his below-par efforts in training leading up to the game. Sancho hit back with a lengthy statement on social media, insisting there was more to the reasons behind his absence.

Sancho was linked with a late move to the Saudi Pro League but has remained at United following the closure of their window on Thursday. However, new revelations are not a good sign for his long-term future with the Red Devils.

A source at United told talkSPORT of four reasons why Sancho’s time at the club has gone south. The first two reasons are that the winger has a poor attitude and his time-keeping is ‘appalling’.

But the next two reasons are perhaps the most damning. TalkSPORT claims that when Sancho is asked to go and meet Ten Hag, he refuses to do so.

The source also claimed that Sancho believes he has a ‘God-given right’ to be a starter at United but only as a left-sided winger. It is reported that he doesn’t want to play in any other position under Ten Hag, including as a right winger.

Sancho currently has both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho ahead of him on the left-hand side. Many believe Rashford’s best position is off the left, so Sancho will unlikely have his demand met anytime soon.

Sancho still has three years remaining on his United contract. According to Spotrac, he is the highest-paid player at the club on £350,000 a week.

But United seemingly have four reasons why they may look to move Sancho on at some point in the near future. Former England striker Darren Bent says Sancho only has himself to blame.

He said: “How he gets it back, he needs to look at himself in the mirror and say ‘Am I doing absolutely everything that I can, maximising everything that I’ve got to get into this Manchester United side?’. Clearly, he’s not. He’s got the ability to turn it around but we just haven’t seen it.”
