Michael Olise has suffered another hamstring injury and is now expected to be unavailable for the significant future, according to reports.

The Crystal Palace winger is yet to feature this season after being side-lined with a hamstring tear that he suffered while on international duty with the France Under-21 side in June.

He had been recovering well and was nearing a return in what would have been a huge boost to Palace boss Roy Hodgson but is now set to miss further games, as reported by the Evening Standard.

Olise has aggravated the hamstring injury during his rehabilitation and is expected to be out of action until after the October international break.

The 21-year-old will continue to be assessed by Palace as they assess the extent of his injury and attempt to determine a timescale of when he will be available for selection.

His initial injury was expected to keep him out of action for three months and was even involved in light team training drills as he edged towards making his return.

Olise starred for Palace last season, scoring two goals and impressing with his all-round play, as the Eagles guided themselves to comfortable Premier League safety.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson was hoping to have his star winger back in the first-team soon before his new injury

Chelsea pursued the France international and looked set to seal his transfer away from Selhurst Park after the Blues activated his £35million release clause.

However, Olise U-turned and committed to a new four-year deal with Palace, but is yet to feature while remaining side-lined with a difficult muscle complaint.

He was named Palace’s player of the season last year after assisting 11 goals in the Premier League during his breakthrough campaign at the club.

Olise is expected to miss upcoming matches against Fulham, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
