Rory McIlroy leads Europe’s Ryder Cup charge as awkward USA battle swerved

The time for talking is over with the 2023 Ryder Cup finally getting underway this morning. Noise out of the Team USA camp indicates they are filled with confidence stemming from their obliteration of Team Europe at Whistling Straits two years ago.

It’s arguably the best chance Team USA have had of ending their horrible record on the European continent since their last victory way back in 1993. But Luke Donald’s side are certainly no slouches with a mix of experience and youth as well having more players who feature higher in the rankings.

But all will be revealed today when the action gets underway in the foursomes with both teams looking to take an early lead. Express Sport is on hand throughout the weekend to provide live updates.
