The Mumbai Cricket Association has announced equal annual retainers for its men’s and women’s players, becoming the first state board in India to implement this structure.

Under the new system, players in Grade A will receive INR 12 lakh each year. Those placed in Grade B will be paid INR 8 lakh annually, while Grade C players will get INR 6 lakh per year.

This pay applies equally to both the men’s and women’s teams, marking a significant step in standardising compensation across genders within the association.
