Team GB divers ‘selling saucy snaps in swimming trunks’ to help fund Olympic bid

Several Team GB divers are selling pictures of themselves in swimming trunks to help fund their France 2024 Olympic dreams.

The likes of Matthew Dixon, Jack Laugher, Matty Lee, Noah Williams, Daniel Goodfellow and Robbie Lee have started flogging cheeky photos of themselves wearing towels or their diving gear. At the 2016 Olympics, Laugher became the first British male diver to win multiple medals at a one Olympics, winning a gold medal in the men's synchronised 3m springboard and a silver in the men's individual 3m springboard.

His success also saw him receive an MBE for his achievements. However, he, and many other British diving aces who have also achieved huge success on the platforms, are still doing their best to raise funds.

It's understood the divers have been uploading pictures of themselves on the adult monthly subscription site OnlyFans. Customers can pay between £8-£16 a month to receive their pictures. It's believed one of Laugher's posts include a picture of him lounging on a blue sofa with a Union Jack-themed cushion, while there is also a selfie of himself with a towel wrapped around his waist.

The divers are part of a specific training programme for the 2024 Paris Games and are receiving: “targeted financial assistance from UK Sport”. However, it appears they have turned to the adult subscription site as a means to raise more money.

They are not the only athletes hoping to fund their Olympic dream through the site. In June, Mexican diver Diego Balleza admitted he started uploading pictures of himself on OnlyFans as a means of making money.

An ugly dispute between World Aquatics and the head of Mexico's national sports commission Ana Guevara resulted in the suspension of monthly payments towards aquatic athletes.

“It occurred to me to open it because you are always looking for a way to make income,” Balleza, who finished fourth in synchronised diving on the 10m platform at the Tokyo Olympics, said to the Associated Press.

“I support my house and my mother, and I have bills to pay, and you can upload whatever you want in there, it's a valid content. I am happy that the people who are on my page have been very good and respectful, I hope they continue like this.”
