Novak Djokovic says he will 'keep going' after US Open win

Novak Djokovic has joked that he might die in planned celebrations if Serbia win the Davis Cup this weekend. The national team plan to complete a skydive in celebration if they win the tournament for the first time since 2010 on Sunday.

After beating France 13 years ago Djokovic and the Serbia players shaved their heads in celebration of the historic achievement. However, the 36-year-old seems less keen on the adrenaline-fuelled celebration planned if they win this year’s tournament in Spain.

Serbia captain Viktor Troicki revealed that his team would jump out of a plain if they win the tournament. Djokovic was quick to reply: “If you want to live, don’t win it.”

The Serbian is looking to complete an impressive season which has seen the 24-time Grand Slam winner take the Australian, French and US Open titles along with last week’s Tour Finals. With limited seasons left in his illustrious career Djokovic is keen to help Serbia to a second Davis Cup crown.

Andy Murray withdrew from Great Britain’s quarter-final match against Serbia as Djokovic’s nation progressed. The seven-time Wimbledon winner showed how seriously he is taking the tournament and was drawn into an argument with fans.

He said: “Learn how to respect players, learn how to behave yourself.” Fans then started playing the drum while he was completing an on-court interview and Djokovic added: “No, you shut up, you be quiet.”
