Race 7 No. 4: PROUD MIA

She has a great fresh record so don’t worry too much about the fact she hasn’t trialled publicly because of that and the fact she’s in good hands with Nick Olive. She’s also races in better races than this and done well.

Race 8 No. 1: MR HUSSILL

His trials indicate he can come back off a long lay-off and keep winning after some dominant wins early in his career before a long break.

Race 7: 1, 3, 4

Race 8: 1, 6

Race 9: 1, 4, 7

Race 10: 3, 5, 10, 11

Cameron Crockett has a few good hopes like My Khaleesi and Mr Hussill who is a very interesting runner in the eighth race who comes back off a long break but has talent.

Race 6 No. 8: PLEADING

She won as a short priced favourite first-up and did it with a bit in hand which indicates she can go on with it in this grade of race even though it’s a Class 3.

Ashley Morgan can start the day with a win on Oblivion and continue success with Oakfield Cherokee and McNair.

I Am Capitan didn’t get the easiest run first-up in a Highway race when running a close enough sixth behind a handy type. He has a habit of finishing second but has the class on his side to beat these. Gidgee Guy has been so consistent of late and things look positive in every area for him here. He’ll get a dream run in behind the speed and with clear room in the straight he’ll test them all the way. Proud Mia won a provincial 1000m race and wasn’t disgraced in town at the midweeks before a spell and she flies fresh.

Bet: Proud Mia to win.

Sebrenco got nabbed by an older, more toughened and seasoned horse late first-up so there was plenty of merit in that run at start two for the two-year-old and she gets an inside barrier to take advantage of. Mr Hussill won twice in good fashion early in his career but has been off the scene since winning at this track in October 2019. Trial form indicated he could make a winning return. Fifteen Rounds was a good winner from off the speed last start at Dubbo and despite only winning twice from 20 starts he’s in the form of his life.

Bet: Exacta 1, 6.

Ollivander has drawn wide but that doesn’t bother his connections who know he’ll like taking his time to muster his speed and get across into a good position and to a part of the track that won’t be cut up later in the day. Baxter goes from 1250m to 1600m and that should be seen as a positive based on his last run where he took all the straight to wind up and score a win. Lady Tabloid drifted in the betting last time and while it was correct, she didn’t lose by much and she’ll give a good sight here.

Bet: Baxter to win.

Lucky Elixir put in a pretty good run fresh and his record says he’ll be a much better chance to go one better and win today. Dusky Damsel finds an easier race here and she’s right at home on her home track so she’s got to go in the numbers. Costa Chin Chin looks the one to take a chance on at double figure odds after a series of near misses of late and he’s placed here all three times he’s run.

Bet: Costa Chin Chin each way.

Alastor is putting together a good record but another win won’t hurt after three-straight placings including a very narrow loss at this track and distance two runs back. Ready to win. Em Em D’ar finally broke through for a win last start after a stack of placings and it might give him the confidence to go on with it. Mr Eighty Eight hasn’t missed a placing in five runs and has been finishing very close to the winner in each of his three runs this time in and he sticks to his home track. Baxter is a big player if he runs.

Bet: Quinella 6, 11.

Pleading missed a run at Scone last week due to the storms that washed out the meeting. She’s a promising type who won with a bit in hand at Muswellbrook three weeks ago and having this run a week later than planned shouldn’t hurt over 1000m. Superior Witness has won three races including his last one and last time in he won twice at this track so he’ll be well supported and he’s won second-up so there’s not much to not like except barrier 11. Zapluck has also drawn wide but will get back and hit the line hard and he’s a 1000m specialist. Tupou’s form must be respected. He’s been in the finish or winning a lot of late.

Bet: Exacta 8, 4.

Condover Hall loves the track and distance so he comes right into this and a 2kg claimer gives him a winning weight but the ride will need to be good from and awkward draw. Great Marlow has also won here but not at the mile. He looks primed to run out the trip at his first attempt and he’s been running good races for a little while now. See how Mr Eighty Eight goes earlier in the day because Onehero, who runs in this race, beat it home narrowly last start. Lasting Grace will benefit from just two weeks between runs this time.

Bet: Condover Hall to win.

Zaru has been flying this time in and could’ve won all this starts since his spell. He hasn’t had the best of luck so he deserves some from a wide gate. McNair will probably take a sit from a wide gate and he’s displayed he’s capable of making up good ground late in the straight and will appreciate the rise in trip. Oakfield Romance also likes to get back and run on and she’s raced here twice for two seconds. Paxos Miss has had a five-week freshen since putting together two good runs at Port Macquarie off a long spell.

Bet: McNair to win.
