Let’s be honest, we are all hanging on a little after a week of what we could call heavy socialising, but you have to summon up the energy for the final day of the Cheltenham Festival.

Looking at some of the bedraggled souls staggering out after Day 3 of this magical week yesterday, I suspect they might not be back for a fourth round.

Yet this is St Patrick’s Day and the rules are clearly defined; you have to party whether you want to or not!

The Gold Cup always brings the racing world to a standstill and for our in-house legend Ruby Walsh, there is only one winner in the big one today.

‘I was given the choice to ride, I would ride Galopin Des Champs all day every day. He’s tailor made for it,’ Ruby told Paddy Power News of the 7/4 favourite.

Friday will see the Cheltenham Gold Cup – one of national hunt racing’s true jewels – take place

It would cap what has proven to be another brilliant week for Irish trainer Willie Mullins

‘When you light him up now he switches himself back off. He’s not all the time on and going, which he was last year.

‘Galopin Des Champs has the ideal profile for a Gold Cup horse. He had the pace to win over shorter, he looks like he’ll get further. He ticks all the boxes.’

A Plus Tard is next in the betting at 6/1 and Bravemansgame will also fancy getting in on the act at the same odds.

Keep an eye out for Noble Yeats to get in the mix at 8/1, but they all have to beat the mighty Galopin Des Champs.

If you are out and about today, don’t forget you can catch all the racing action on the Paddy Power website and app as we have a live feed there, and the best tips from Ruby, Mick Fitzgerald and Matt Chapman are over at Paddy Power News.

I hope you have been keeping track of the Paddy Power digital platforms as we have been showering our customers with offers that are a little too generous for my liking.

Finally, if you are heading to our Paddy Power Cheltenham Fanzone in London today, you can expect more treats from the moment you arrive.

For starters, everyone who joins us at Greenwood Sports Pub and Kitchen in Victoria will get a pair of my famous Paddy Power pants.

Think pints, prizes, and likeminded punters – all standing shoulder-to-shoulder cheering on the Irish, on our Irish day of greatness St Patrick’s Day, as the Irish aim to topple the British horses on the hallowed ground that is Cheltenham.

What’s not to like? See you there!
