Cricket Australia has appointed Nick Hockley as its new chief executive.
Hockley has been interim chief executive since last June following the departure of Kevin Roberts who fell out of favour with the board.
Birmingham-raised Hockley previously held senior roles with the organising committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup held in Australia in 2015 and London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.

He is a chartered accountant by profession who studied at Oxford University.
Hockley was praised for navigating Australian cricket through last summer when the Test series against India was being threatened by the Covid crisis.
He underwent a difficult time in the wake of Cameron Bancroft’s claim that the bowlers may have known about Australia’s ball tampering in the 2018 Cape Town Test.
Hockley stuck to the company line that Australia would reopen an investigation if anyone came forward with fresh evidence, with some critics claiming that is what Bancroft had already done.
