Richard Johnson emphatically showed he will fight all the way to the finish in the title race with a double at Musselburgh on his first day back after breaking his arm.
Johnson, who had been sidelined for 37 days, scored on Olly Murphy-trained pair Dubai Guest and Made For You as he reduced the lead of title leader Brian Hughes to 18 wins (131-113).
In contrast, Hughes spent the day at the BHA taking part in two appeal hearing.

Hughes and trainer Donald McCain failed in their attempt to overturn the disqualification of Bangor first past the post Minella Trump but he did get a four-day whip ban picked up at Wolverhampton reduced to two days.
Johnson admitted earlier this week that he was ‘up against it’ in this year’s title race, but is not giving up by any means.
He said: ‘After what happened last month, I’m just delighted to be back racing. Hopefully we can keep at it and we’ll see where it takes us.’
