Tuanzebe shows off brand new ripped physique but Man Utd fans still unimpressed

Manchester United star Axel Tuanzebe has shown off his new, ripped physique on social media – but fans have been left unimpressed.

The United defender was recently on loan at Italian side Napoli in the second half of last season, but he failed to find success in Serie A. He was handed just a single appearance in the league before sustaining a lower back injury which led him to miss the next six games before being named as an unused substitute for the remainder of the campaign.

The 24-year-old is one of the many on the list of players expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, despite still having another year left on his current deal. Since graduating from United's academy into the senior-team, Tuanzebe has gone out on loan four times, with three of those spells at Aston Villa.

He has not played for United since their Europa League final defeat to Villarreal in May of last year. However, it looks as though he is determined to fight for his place after getting into incredible physical shape, as shown on his Instagram.

But despite looking incredibly ripped and having a frame most gym goers could only dream of, he has received backlash from some of the United faithful. One wrote on Twitter: "Wow. That's 20million right there," before another replied: "Getting his body right to sit on the bench."

A third said: "He's built for the WWE but not to play CB for United." Meanwhile another went as far as question: "That's very nice Axel. Need learn to defend properly so you can get back on track to being professional footballer. What happened? You were nailed on to become a top top player. I really don't care what your six pack looks like. Play football!!"

A fifth added: "Everything that is wrong with the modern footballer. More interested in appearances and Instagram likes than performances on the pitch. How long has he spent doing crunches, pull ups and bench presses for aesthetics, when he could have been on the training pitch working on position sense, heading, tackling, marking etc?

"Which of those muscles will help you become a better technical defender, or to read the game better? As a United fan, I couldn't be more interested in how you look with your shirt off – I just want you to perform with it ON."

And another concluded: "Our players are obsessed with lifting instead of real football and technical training."
