Some of Tottenham’s first-team players would allegedly welcome the immediate sacking of Antonio Conte following the Italian’s explosive attack on his squad after their 3-3 draw at Southampton on Saturday. Spurs were well on course to secure a vital three points courtesy of goals from Pedro Porro, Harry Kane and Ivan Perisic before an unexpected defensive collapse as Theo Walcott and James Ward-Prowse struck two late goals to rescue a point for the hosts.

The result and performance left Conte furious and weeks of uncertainty and frustration behind the scenes saw him release the handbrake in his press conference as he angrily opened fire with a series of home truths.

According to The Guardian, the rant did not impress some of Tottenham’s players and some of them would now be onboard with his immediate dismissal.

The report relays that a dressing-room source has briefed that the Tottenham players believed Conte is now “going or gone.”

There are now growing doubts as to whether Tottenham’s players are now fully behind their current manager, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
