Tottenham are reportedly keen to rival Liverpool for the signing of winger Adama Traore. If successful, it would mean a reunion between the winger and Nuno Espirito Santo, after the pair worked together while the Portuguese was in charge of Wolves. As it stands, Spurs have two distinct advantages to make their aspiration a reality.
Having registered only two goals and two assists last season, new Wolves boss Bruno Lage is allegedly open to letting Adama leave for the right price this summer.
With two years remaining on his current deal, now would be the perfect time for Wolves to cash in on the Spaniard.
Liverpool have supposedly made enquiries about the 25-year-old’s availability, although the Daily Mail claim that Nuno is now keen to lure his former danger-man to north London.
Therein lies Spurs’ major advantage over Liverpool, given that Nuno has got the best out of Adama while at Wolves, albeit briefly.

During the 2019/20 season, the speedster notched four goals and nine assists, strong numbers for a player often criticised for his lack of end product.
Those statistics could improve further when surrounded by Tottenham’s star-studded squad.
Another major advantage for Spurs is the fact that they may have a ready-made vacancy for Adama in their side.
The club have just lost Erik Lamela to Sevilla, while the likes of Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura have failed to establish themselves as irreplaceable members of the Spurs frontline.

Although the club have gone to great lengths to recruit Spanish youngster Bryan Gil, the winger is still 20 years old, so may not be a nailed on starter straight away.
With all being said, if Adama was signed by Nuno for a hefty £45million fee, he would be in pole position to fill the third attacking spot alongside Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
That trio would only be a possibility if the England captain is still at Spurs next season, of course.
The Tottenham talisman reportedly skipped training on Monday, fuelling rumours that he is attempting to force through a move to Manchester City.
His potential departure could have a dual effect on the club’s pursuit of Adama. On one hand, it would free up the cash to bring him in, while on the other, it would make Spurs a less enticing destination.

As Liverpool already have an established front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, it would be much more difficult for the Wolves man to slot straight into the team.
His old team-mate, Diogo Jota, did manage it for a spell last season, but he had to perform well over the odds to make it possible, notching a goals total never managed by Adama in his career so far.
The Barcelona academy graduate clearly has a tough decision to make. Spurs are currently a club shrouded by uncertainty, but he could have more of an impact.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are like a well-oiled machine at their best, but a player in their mid-twenties may no longer be enticed by a spot on the bench.
