Tottenham hero Dimitar Berbatov thinks Spurs’ transfer targets will be more inclined to sign for the club after they complete their deal to bring Gareth Bale back to north London. Bale’s loan move from Real Madrid is set to be completed in the next few days.
Tottenham are on the verge of announcing Bale’s season-long loan after sealing the signing of Sergio Reguilon.
Spurs are starting to go all-out in the transfer market, and are preparing to announce the double-signing from Madrid.
Jose Mourinho has been proactive already in the window to bring in Matt Doherty from Wolves and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
But after their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Everton in Sunday’s Premier League opener, they are ready to ramp things up with their recruitment.

They’ve already hijacked Manchester United’s deal for Reguilon, and are set to announce the left-back after agreeing a £27.5million deal with Madrid.
Bale is expected to follow, with the Welshman set to sign a one-year loan deal to return to north London.
The winger has been unhappy in Madrid for some time, and has apparently told his team-mates he will be leaving this summer for Spurs.
And Berbatov believes Bale’s return will kickstart a revolution at Tottenham and encourage future targets to sign.

Speaking to Betfair, the iconic striker explained that the winger’s arrival will show that Spurs still have the power to sign big-name players.
He said: “It’s hard to say that this alone will make Spurs title challengers, but it is a sign to the world that they can do serious business.
“The players in the squad will be encouraged, and so will potential signings.
“Bale, [Harry] Kane, [Heung-min] Son, Dele Alli. Managers would kill for this frontline.

“On paper, they now have the strongest front-line in the league along with Liverpool.
“Bale is probably already texting Harry Kane and other Spurs players, chatting and looking forward to linking up.”
Berbatov also claimed that Bale still has the ability to perform at the top level, and a return to Tottenham is a step in the right direction for him.
He added: “It’s great news for everyone involved.
“Gareth loves Spurs, it’s where he first showed the world what he can do.
“Quality never disappears. At 31, he still has the ability to play a crucial role at Spurs.
“This is a step back in the right direction for an amazing player.”
