Fabio Paratici could be on the lookout for a new striker before the end of the summer transfer window at Tottenham. Harry Kane missed Sunday’s clash with Manchester City amid talk of a move to the Sky Blues, but it is unclear whether or not the England captain will leave his boyhood club.

Tottenham transfer target Dusan Vlahovic could become like Erling Haaland in north London, but Spurs chief Fabio Paratici must get a big-money move over the line.

That is the opinion of former Juventus and Italy ace Alessio Tacchinardi.

Vlahovic is being linked with a move away from Fiorentina this summer after a spell-binding season last time out.

The Serbia international scored 21 times in Serie A to light up the Italian top flight and garner the interest of a number of Europe’s top clubs.

Spurs are one of the clubs being linked with Vlahovic, while rivals Arsenal have also been credited with interest.

It appears that Atletico Madrid are currently leading the race for the 21-year-old’s signature though, having reportedly opened talks over a move before the end of the summer.

Reports from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim that a £59m deal is currently being discussed, while Atletico’s earlier £51m bid was knocked back.

However, former Juve man Tacchinardi admits that he thinks Vlahovic could excel best at Tottenham, producing numbers similar to those of Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland.

“He must be signed now,” Tacchinardi told Tuttomercatoweb Radio.

“Next year, he could end up producing monstrous numbers like Haaland. He is ready for Tottenham.

“Now he is a diamond in the rough but he can grow a lot. He is a beast.

“For those who can afford him, I say that it is the right time to sign him.”

Haaland scored 41 goals in all competitions last season, while he has already bagged five times in just two matches so far this term.

Of course, Tottenham’s need to find a new striker will hinge on whether or not Harry Kane gets his move to Manchester City.

And as things stand, it does not look as thought that switch will be happening before the end of the summer.
