Thomas Tuchel has revealed he was not behind the key decision to swap Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech’s positions against Malmo. The move inspired Chelsea’s win with the two players combining in the second half as the latter netted the only goal to secure victory for Tuchel’s men.

The three points means Chelsea have all but sealed safe passage through to the knockout rounds.

The Blues were heavy favourites heading into the match against the Swedish side, but had to dig deep to find the breakthrough.

Malmo managed to stay resolute for 56 minutes before their defence was eventually breached by Ziyech.

Tuchel admitted it was the result Chelsea ‘expected’ but gave credit to his assistant for telling him to switch Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech’s position.

The call ended up leading to Chelsea’s only goal as Hudson-Odoi set up Ziyech to hit the winner.
