Cristiano Ronaldo was not made to perform an initiation song after returning to Manchester United this summer – reminding his new team-mates that he already did so in 2003.
Ronaldo re-signed for United on the penultimate day of the summer transfer window 12 years after departing to join Real Madrid, snubbing interest from rivals Manchester City to head back to the club.
And he got his second Red Devils spell off to the perfect start on Saturday, scoring twice in a 4-1 win over Newcastle at Old Trafford.
The 36-year-old only met his new team-mates when he arrived at Carrington on Tuesday, carrying out a few training sessions ahead of his second United debut.
According to The Athletic, his first session was a light, low-key affair consisting of some possession drills, while Wednesday's was about familiarising himself with players returning from international duty.
On Thursday Ronaldo is said to have gathered his colleagues together and told them while they are good players, the levels will now have to increase in their pursuit of major trophies.

He also made a speech at The Lowry hotel on the night before the Newcastle game, thanking the squad for their warm welcome.
However, unlike fellow new signings Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner did not have to carry out the tradition of singing an initiation song.

Ronaldo reminded those in the room that he already performed that ritual when he first signed for United 18 years ago.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus ace admitted he was "super nervous" before his Old Trafford homecoming on Saturday.
"It is unbelievable. When I started the game I was so nervous, I swear," he said. "I did not expect that they would sing my name all game. The reception is incredible but I am here to win games and help the team.
Paul Pogba has already provided more Man Utd assists this season than last two combined
"It was an unbelievable moment. I was super nervous and was thinking last night that I wanted to play good and show I was still capable of helping the team. This club is unbelievable and I am so proud. I am going to give everything to make them proud of me.
"Everyone knows the football in England is different than in any part of the world and to be honest it is the most special one. I arrived here at 18 and they treated my unbelievably and that is why I am back."
