Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe is a target of Real Madrid in a deal which could see Martin Odegaard head back to the Emirates, according to reports. Smith Rowe is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer of 2023 and is also attracting interest from Aston Villa. Odegaard, meanwhile, remains a top target for Mikel Arteta this summer.

Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal.

The attacking midfielder impressed Arteta and the Spaniard is keen to bring him back to the club next term in some capacity.

Smith Rowe, meanwhile, remained a regular fixture in the Gunners team despite the arrival of Odegaard in January.

The Hale End academy graduate made 20 Premier League appearances after bursting onto the scene in the Boxing Day win at home to Chelsea.

The Athletic claims Villa have seen a £25million bid rejected for Smith Rowe.

However, Dean Smith’s side are not the only team interested in the 20-year-old.

The Mail says La Liga giants Real are now keen on signing Smith Rowe.

Real believe they can take advantage of the fact Arsenal want to sign Odegaard again.

Odegaard remains the No 1 target for the Gunners, even if Smith Rowe were to stay.

Real want around £35m for Odegaard but are now open to including Smith Rowe as part of the deal.

Arsenal are in negotiations with Smith Rowe regarding a new contract.
