Luka Jovic’s time at Real Madrid has had a rocky start – but his performance last weekend against Real Sociedad shows the striker’s form could be on the up.

The La Liga leaders ran out 2-0 winners to extend their lead at the top of the table, with Jovic being at the heart of the proceedings with a goal and assist.

And some are putting his rejuvenation down to his model girlfriend Sofija Milosevic.

When he was supposed to be self-isolating, the attacker had even flew to Serbia to see the stunner.

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic revealed the player was under investigation and that could have faced jail time for the move.

Last year, Milosevic said she was expecting her first child with Luka, sharing the news with a picture of the two kissing.

"We would like to share with you our happy news, we are going to have a baby!!," she captioned the photo.

"Im so thankful that Luka can be next to me during this period @lukajovic, I couldn’t imagine being without him during this difficult time for the whole world.”

Jovic made the €60million move to Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt two years ago, having netted 27 goals in the Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season.

Injuries plagued the striker and he was shipped back on loan to Frankfurt last season.

On his return, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti selected the 23-year-old, the move paying dividends.

Luka Modric talked to the press right after the team’s win over Sociedad.

He said: “He [Jovic] put in a very good performance. He provided an assist and scored after having gone a long time without playing. He showed that we can count on him.

“We’re very pleased with his performance and his goal.”

“I’m not going to comment on squad rotation, that’s down to the coach, but whenever you play, you’ve got to give your all and perform as best you can. Everyone who plays always wants to give their all.”
