Pogba ‘offered biggest contract in Premier League history’ to stay at Man Utd

Manchester United have reportedly offered Paul Pogba a staggering £400,000-a-week contract in an attempt to convince the Frenchman to stay at the club.

Pogba’s contract runs out this summer, meaning the midfielder is free to talk to other clubs this month in what could potentially see him sign a pre-contractual agreement elsewhere.

The 28-year-old has attracted attention from the like of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and former side Juventus.

But The Sun reports the former World Cup winner has not yet decided whether he will leave the club, with United now considering offering him a whopping £400,000 per week contract before add-ons.

Pogba currently earns an estimated £290,000-per-week but the reported new contract would make him the highest paid player in Premier League history.

The offer is also understood to exceed that of his potential suitors by £100,000.

Yet Man United are still concerned about losing the playmaker to another top European side.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has been outspoken about his future in recent months, recently stating he has received “many offers”.

The French international’s time at United has been a turbulent one since joining in 2016, with various fall-outs with managers and ex-players over his perceived attitude and inconsistent form.

Pogba has featured in just nine Premier League matches this season due to a hamstring injury, which may have provided the club with some indication of what life would be like without their former talisman.

Potential replacements for Pogba could include West Ham and England star Declan Rice, who happens to be the Red Devils’ top priority this summer.

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is another player consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford and is available for £35million this January.
