Pele has shared a photo after returning home from hospital, opening up on the "difficult" treatment he is undergoing as he battles against colon cancer.

He has now returned home following his latest treatment, sharing an update with his followers from his seafront property. He posted a picture alongside his wife Marcia and his dog Cacau from in front of the ocean.

As the caption, Pele wrote: "The peace of being next to my dear wife, Márcia, and our inseparable companion, Cacau. Treatment is difficult, but feeling their love is the best medicine. Home Sweet Home."

He had been released in a "good and stable" condition according to a statement released by the Albert Einstein Hospital. He previously spent two weeks in hospital in February for cancer treatment complicated by a urinary tract infection.
