Norwich complete deal for Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica on a four-year contract… with Canaries boss Daniel Farke claiming the club has beaten several ‘top clubs’ to the signing of the Kosovo international
- Norwich City have completed a deal for Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica
- The Canaries have tied the Kosovo international down to a four-year contract
- The 24-year-old was wanted by several top clubs in Europe, says Daniel Farke
- The German has also added Dimitrios Giannoulis and Ben Gibson this summer
Norwich City have continued their bid to build a Premier League-level squad by signing Werder Bremen attacker Milot Rashica for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract.
The 24-year-old is the Canaries’ third summer signing of the window after snapping up Burnley defender Ben Gibson and Greek left-back Dimitrios Giannoulis from PAOK Salonika, who were both on loan at the club last season.
Rashica his double digit goal tallies in all competitions for the German side in the 2018-19 season and the 2019-20 campaign, but an injury-hit spell last time limited his total to just three in the league last term.

Speaking about his move, the Kosovo winger told Norwich’s official website: ‘I will of course give my best to this football club in every game and hope to excite the fans with many goals and assists. I can’t wait to get started.
‘I know a few things about the club, particularly the style of play under Daniel Farke. I want to continue to learn and develop as a player and person and I think that the style of play here will suit me very well.
‘I have spoken with the boss and I know what he wants to see from me. Those conversations with him recently have been a big help and I am very excited.’
The 24-year-old scored 23 goals in 64 games during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns
Rashica has scored 27 goals in 100 matches for Werder, who snapped him up from Vitesse Arnhem in January 2018. He came through the youth ranks at Kosovo side KF Vushtrria, before scoring nine goals in 21 appearances for the first-team.
He made his senior debut for Albania in 2016 and played twice for the country in March and May of that year but then committed to Kosovo later that summer.
Norwich boss Farke revealed that several ‘top clubs’ were interested in the Kosovo forward and promised Rashica is able to ‘do something outstanding in the attack’.
He added: ‘With Milot we have a very interesting player and we’re delighted to have been able to bring him to Norwich City.

‘Many top clubs have been interested in his signature over the last seasons and he was quite often connected with a big money move.
‘He has delivered many end products and although he is young, he has played many games at the top level.
‘He’s a player who can do something outstanding in the offence. We also got the feeling from his age, ability, potential and personality that he will fit in quite well to our group. We hope that he can improve our offensive game.
‘He can play a number of positions, as a winger, striker or number ten. He’s a pretty versatile player and we’re happy to be able to bring a quality player in.’
