Gary Neville has branded Manchester United a "waste of time" after their "hopeless" performance against Liverpool on Tuesday.
The Red Devils travelled to Anfield for a Premier League clash, but were utterly dominated once again by Jurgen Klopp's side. It took just five minutes for Luis Diaz to put Liverpool in front as United's dreadful season hit yet another low point.
Mohamed Salah laid on the assist for that goal and got on the scoresheet himself as things only got worse for United 20 minutes later. After a neat passage of build-up play, Salah was played in by Sadio Mane and fired past David de Gea for his side's second goal of the night.
Neville had been left seething throughout the game as United wilted in the face of their title-challenging opponents. And he let rip after Salah's strike, blasting the players currently turning out for his former club as they were embarrassed at Anfield.
"This Man Utd team are a waste of space. However, the football Liverpool have delivered here is absolutely sublime. The quality! That pass from Mane, that touch from Salah, that finish are world class. And it's why Liverpool go into the last 10 or 11 games of the season in an unbelievable position to sweep up," he said as he analysed Salah's goal.
"This is as bad as it gets. I thought Man Utd looked promising towards the end of last season but the demise to where they're at today has been alarming. What we're watching is nothing. This is nothing."

United improved slightly after the break, but saw their resistance broken twice again in the second 45 minutes. First Andy Robertson intercepted a loose pass before Mane fired in from Diaz's pass.
And Salah completed the rout when he chipped the ball over De Gea after Robertson had again made a key interception. United's dreadful display left Neville furious and he did not hold back in his post-match comments.
"It's a decade of repeated failure and that's not good enough. Man Utd have got everyone in the country expected tonight. Really in a poor place. The end of the season can't come quick enough. This is a broken Man Utd squad in this moment in time," Neville said.
