Moise Kean has been linked with a move back to Serie A after a disappointing spell at Everton, with Roma reported to be interested in the Merseyside club’s £27m man.

The 20-year-old’s arrival from Juventus attracted much excitement last summer but just one goal and two assists in 26 games has seen him cut a frustrated figure so far.

The striker has become disillusioned with the lack of playing time at the Toffees, particularly since Carlo Ancelotti took over, and Roma could offer him a chance to return to his native country, according to a report on Football Italia.

The website report that Roma would be excited for Kean link up with his Italy Under-21 team-mate and friend Nicolo Zaniolo at the Stadio Olimpico.

Kean’s indifferent Everton career so far perhaps reached its lowest point during their clash with Manchester United in December after being brought on as a substitute by interim manager Duncan Ferguson but was then extraordinarily dragged off just 19 minutes later, an event which saw him walk past his then-boss and straight down the Old Trafford tunnel.

Everton are thought to be open to selling Kean but don’t want make a loss on the £27m plus bonuses figure they paid just eight months ago.

Those in charge at the Italian club believe that figure to be excessive at this stage but are excited at the prospect of bringing in the forward, who scored 8 goals in 21 appearances for Juventus after making his debut as a 16-year-old in 2016.

Kean and Zaniolo were an exciting pair for Italy’s Under-21 side but were both excluded from the squad at last year’s European Championships when they repeatedly turned up late to team meetings.
