Kylian Mbappe has opined that ‘life experiences’ are of more value to him than ‘making money’ in a cryptic message with his Paris-Saint Germain future hanging in the balance.

Mbappe, 22, has been locked in talks with the French giants over a contract extension, with his current deal expiring in the summer, but is yet to strike terms with the club.

The Frenchman has been the subject of heavy interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who saw a €200million (£170m) for Mbappe knocked back last summer.

Los Blancos are reportedly lining up a move for Mbappe next summer, with president Florentino Perez insisting: ‘The state-owned clubs don’t sell their players. It’s madness’.

‘Now we offer €200 million for a single player and they don’t sell him. When players finish their contract, it’s better.’

And in an interview with Paris Match, Mbappe has revealed that he values experience over money, in what would appear to be a damaging blow to PSG’s hopes of keeping hold of the striker.

‘Human ties are much more fascinating (than money),’ Mbappe said via RMC Sport.

‘It’s the life experience that counts, more than making money,’ he added.

‘I am thirsty above all for discoveries , trips, meetings with players, different cultures…

‘I have a quiet relationship with money: I know it’s important, I’m happy to have it, but that’s not what drives me every second of the day.’

Mbappe has scored 100 Ligue 1 goals across his stints with AS Monaco and PSG, and has been tasked with helping the ambitious Parisians to their maiden Champions League triumph.

All eyes will be on the 22-year-old early next year, when PSG go up against Madrid in their last-16 contest to advance to the quarter finals.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently soaring at the top of Ligue 1, with a huge 13-point lead, while Carlo Ancelotti’s Spaniards are top of LaLiga by eight points.
