Manchester United have been told to sign Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek to replace struggling holding midfield duo Scott McTominay and Fred. Rice and Soucek have starred for West Ham over recent seasons, helping them to qualification for the Europa League last season.
The duo have continued to impress this season, starting alongside each other in seven of the Hammers’ eight games.
Their sole loss as a pairing this term came in a narrow defeat to United at the London Stadium, ensuring David Moyes’ side sit seventh in the Premier League.
Rice has arguably been most impressive in the Europa League, scoring two goals to see the Hammers top Group H of the competition after the opening two games.
That included the opening goal against Rapid Vienna on Thursday night, with Soucek coming on to play the final 30 minutes.
Their performances have been in stark contrast to that of Fred and McTominay’s, with central midfield clearly being a problem area for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Though they beat Wolves and Villarreal, both of those wins have also exposed the poor quality of options United possess in the position.
That has led former Manchester City star Trevor Sinclair to urge United to make a shock move for the West Ham duo, labelling them the ‘best in the league’.
And in a damning assessment of United’s comparatively poor quality, he insisted that Fred and McTominay would have no hope of walking into West Ham’s line-up.
“If he [Rice] starts adding goals to his game, the figures that have been talked about for Declan, £80million, they’re not a million miles away from where they’re going to be,” he told talkSPORT.

“I said it a while ago, Fred and McTominay, both Soucek and Rice would walk into the Manchester United side.
“The same wouldn’t happy if those two players, Fred and McTominay, went down to West Ham.
“I think they’re probably one of the best two holding midfielders in the league. They supplement each other really well and complement each other.”
Rice has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford, something Sinclair believes has left the Englishman uneasy with life at the London Stadium.
But he praised the midfielder for putting that behind him when it comes to matches, with the former winger labelling him “phenomenal”.
“You look at Rice, he sits, his passing range is superb, he can carry the ball now as we’ve seen in the Euros, as we’ve seen so many times for England,” Sinclair said.
“And when he’s starting to add goals to that, I think he’s a phenomenal player. Young player. His head’s been turned a little bit.
“But he’s showing great maturity by getting his head down and making sure that if this is his last year and season at West Ham, he’s going to make sure it’s a year to remember for the fans.”
