Manchester United have been tipped to sell Paul Pogba in the summer and use £70million from that deal to land one of their summer transfer targets. Former Villa striker and now football pundit Andy Gray thinks United need to sell Pogba for £100m and use part of that to buy Aston Villa star, Jack Grealish.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his squad at the end of the season and Pogba’s future at Old Trafford has been uncertain since he hinted at wanting a “new challenge” last summer.
And while Gray is unsure how the coronavirus pandemic might not only affect football transfers in the next window but also the future, he still thinks “it’s a no brainer” for United to offload Pogba and sign Grealish as his replacement.
“We don’t know how football is going to come through this,” Gray told the Daily Star.
“We don’t know if football is ever going to be the same again and whether It’ll affect player values and salaries. We’re entering a world of unknowns.

“But when the dust settles, if I could sell Pogba for £100m and bring in Grealish for £70m I would do it in a heartbeat. It’s a no brainer.”
Pogba left United to sign for Juventus in 2012 and then returned to Old Trafford in a deal worth £89m in 2016.
During that time the 27-year-old has helped the Red Devils lift the Europa League and League Cup but has failed to hit the same heights as he did for Juve.

This season has been particularly frustrating for the World Cup winner, as an ankle injury has sidelined him for the majority of the season.
And while Pogba has only managed to make eight appearances for United this campaign, Gray thinks United can get at least what they paid Juventus for him.
“United still might be able to get their money back on Pogba,” Gray added.
“We know his value commercially and on social media with his millions of followers. That’s important to football clubs these days and it gives him an added kudos.
“But fans aren’t really bothered about all that. They just want him to contribute on the football pitch.
“He’s pretty much failed at United. Is it his own fault or just bad luck with injuries? I think it’s probably a combination of the two.”

Meanwhile, Grealish has been putting in impressive performances for Villa this season despite being in the midst of a relegation battle with his boyhood club.
And although the 24-year-old recently apologised for breaking government coronavirus guidelines, Gray doesn’t think United will hold this against him.
“If I’m Solskjaer I wouldn’t be put off because of one error of judgement,” Gray added.
“He’ll have already done his homework on him, they don’t buy blindly without finding out about his character. They’ll already know what kind of man he really is.
“When he was younger, there might have been a few late nights, but we’ve all been there.
“I want him to stay at Villa, but I know they can’t give him what he needs. He has to play football at the very highest level and Manchester United can give him that.”
