Out of favour ace Frenkie de Jong has blasted Barcelona by liking an Instagram post criticising their handling of his ongoing transfer saga.
The Netherlands international, 25, has remained clear in his determination to stay put in Catalunya despite the club agreeing an initial £63million fee, which could rise to £70m including add-ons, with Manchester United.
Newly-appointed Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has prioritised De Jong as his no.1 target in the transfer market but the midfielder is settled and content with life in Barcelona after recently proposing to partner Mikky Kiemeny and settling down in the Pedralbes district of the city.

However, amid serious financial unrest, Barcelona are desperate to flog their highest earner to fund their own incomings. De Jong, though, is seemingly not happy about club officials forcing him out the exit door.
Taking a swipe at the club on Instagram, the Dutchman was caught having liked a comment from one Barca fan that said: "I dislike the way we have handled Frenkie's situation."

As well as re-signing Ousmane Dembele and forking out £63m for Raphinha, the Catalan giants have also agreed a deal in principle for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski – which only intensifies the pressure for De Jong to finalise personal terms with Man Utd.
The Polish superstar is set to put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Camp Nou after arriving in Miami to join his new team-mates on their pre-season tour. Lewandowski will now undergo medical examinations ahead of his £42.5m switch, bringing Barca's total summer spending close to £100m.
