Man Utd predicted XI vs RB Leipzig as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plots several changes

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to make several changes for Man Utd's must-not-lose Champions League clash against Red Bull Leipzig on Tuesday.

United's boss has been forced into two amendments to the starting XI he selected in Saturday's win over West Ham.

Both Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial have been ruled out of the Group H decider with minor injuries and have not travelled to Germany.

Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes will be brought back into the side after their pivotal contributions from the bench at the weekend.

But Paul Pogba could still miss out on a starting berth despite his goal sparking United's comeback against the Hammers.

Instead Solskjaer is likely to give Nemanja Matic the other holding midfield role alongside Scott McTominay.

Fernandes will be given licence to roam in front of them, while Juan Mata is in line to keep his place on the right following his assist on Saturday.

That gives Mason Greenwood another chance to lead the line in attack, with Rashford completing the front three.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have missed out on Jadon Sancho in the summer, but he still made some big moves in the transfer market with Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani all arriving.

But their start to the season has been a mixed bag, with a home defeat to Crystal Palace and a 6-1 thrashing by Spurs at one end of the scale, and a tremendous 2-1 win over PSG in Paris at the other.

The question now is whether they can find the right balance?

At the back, Solskjaer is almost certain to name an unchanged defence, keeping faith with Alex Telles even though Luke Shaw is in the travelling squad.

Solskjaer does have a big decision to make on his goalkeeper, though.

Dean Henderson was between the sticks in United's last match but David de Gea is fit again after shaking off an injury.

Who will win between Man Utd and Leipzig? Have your say below.

De Gea is still United's recognised No1 and is expected to regain his place in spite of Henderson's decent work while deputising.

Otherwise, Donny van de Beek is also set to drop to the bench again, while Axel Tuanzebe is eligible for selection after missing the PSG clash due to suspension.
