Solskjaer makes transfer plan

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to sell five players this summer in order to bring Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, reports say.

The Sun claim that the Red Devils remain keen on Sancho, who has sparkled for Borussia Dortmund this season.

And five could be shown the door.

Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard may be set for the chop, with the duo both enduring difficult campaigns at the club.

And Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Andreas Pereira may also be cut loose.

  • Ed Woodward has private concern about Man Utd

Woodward gives Chelsea Sancho boost

United chief Ed Woodward’s way of negotiating has given Chelsea a boost when it comes to signing Jadon Sancho.

That’s according to the Evening Standard, who claim he’s trying to get Borussia Dortmund into selling their star asset for cheaper.

Woodward has insisted United won’t be paying premium fees this summer while the coronavirus crisis continues to wreck havoc.

And Chelsea’s chances of signing Sancho have supposedly increased in the time since his comments.

Whether the Blues are able to lure the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge, though, remains to be seen.

Rafael slams Woodward

Rafael Da Silva has hit out at United chief Ed Woodward over the club’s transfer activity from the past seven years.

“It has taken too long to get back on track,” Rafael told ESPN.

“It’s been seven years [without a Premier League title]. We did some things wrong.

“We started signing expensive players and giving them a lot of money. I don’t agree with that.

“Just because a player costs £150 million does not mean he’s good for the team. It depends on the character of the player.”

Woodward wouldn’t want big Kane transfer

Tony Cascarino doubts whether Manchester United would spend £200million on Harry Kane this summer.

“The revenue at Man United was nearly £630m last year, so it’s extraordinary amounts of money that this club has drawn in,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT.

“Okay it’s not profit but it’s what they’re earning season by season, it’s been going upwards.

“I think Ed Woodward will realise that it has a golden opportunity to still make big money and there will be players available for cheaper rates than they would have been.

“I think that’s obvious because there is a European market and they will have been affected but I also feel he knows he cannot, and wouldn’t want to, be spending i.e. £200million on Harry Kane.”
