Man Utd fans turn on ‘f***ing useless’ duo after bottling two-goal lead to Spurs

Manchester United fans were fuming at Erik ten Hag's substitutions as they bottled a 2-0 lead against Tottenham – with two players receiving particular criticism.

The Red Devils looked to be cruising to a fourth straight victory in the Premier League on Thursday (April 27) night. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford had put them in the ascendancy at the break.

But Pedro Porro got Spurs back into it not long after the restart, before Ten Hag brought on Fred, Anthony Martial, Wout Weghorst and Tyrell Malacia. They didn't help swing the game back in United's favour, with Son Heung-min levelling 10 minutes from time.

All four subs had lacklustre cameos, but the Dutch duo of Weghorst and Malacia came in for the brunt of it online. One supporter tweeted: "Weghorst and Malacia had NO business coming on."

A second wrote: "Malacia for the ever improving Bissaka just doesn’t make sense. Weghorst will do for nothing. Lol."

A third argued: "It's like Ten Hag has used this game to allow players to dig their own graves. Fred, Malacia, Weghorst, Martial all awful."

"Martial, Weghorst, Fred and Malacia all shocking since coming on," echoed a fourth, while a fifth slammed: "Malacia is f***ing useless."

A sixth said: "Weghorst, Malacia and Van de Beek all flopped. Don't want anymore Dutch players near our team due to Ten Hag tax." Before a seventh joked: "Weghorst to Turkey, Fred to Uzbekistan and Malacia to Burundi."

United will have a chance to bounce back from the disappointing result when they host Aston Villa on Sunday (April 30). They sit six points above both Spurs and Villa in fourth with seven games to go.
