Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to battle Manchester United for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer. The Red Devils have been recently linked with making a £35million move for the Gabon international.
It is claimed Arsenal are hoping to recoup around £50m for their top goalscorer, who is out of contract at the end of next season.
United and Chelsea were preparing to steal their Premier League rivals’ key man.
But Italian giants Inter have placed Aubameyang on their shortlist as they could lose Lautaro Martinez this summer.
Barcelona have been closely monitoring the 22-year-old and Gazzetta dello Sport claim the he could be sold for around £100million.
Inter would then use a large portion of that cash to pip United to the signing of Aubameyang.
The Nerazzurri like to do their shopping in the English top flight as they signed Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez from United last summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport add that they may also make a move for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.
But both deals would only come to the fore if Barcelona snap up Martinez.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson thinks Aubameyang would be a great fit at Old Trafford.

He wrote in his column: “Aubameyang is what Manchester United are missing. He is a goal scorer and goal scorers are priceless.
“If you look at United and the way they played against Manchester City a couple of weeks ago, I thought they were very, very good.
“You looked at them and thought they have got a chance, especially if they could also get hold of a couple more players, especially a creative midfielder.
“You couldn’t help but be impressed with their performance and if they were to sign Aubameyang and they also got someone like a Jack Grealish, are they big players? They would be a major force, in my opinion.
“They are crying out for someone who is going to score them 20 to 25 goals, and that’s what Aubameyang can bring. He gets you 25 goals without even breaking sweat.
“Add a Grealish if they can get him and then you’ve got Bruno Fernandes as well playing in behind a striker, Manchester United will be a major force.”
The Premier League is currently on an enforced break until April 30 at the very earlier because of the worldwide coronavirus epidemic.
