Manchester United could be forced to act quickly to land Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland after the superstar admitted his club are pushing him for a decision about his future. Haaland has been tipped to leave the German giants after becoming one of the best strikers in the world.

Haaland was in action on Friday night as he grabbed a brace in his side’s 5-1 Bundesliga thumping of SC Freiburg.

And after the game he admitted he will soon turn his attentions to planning the next steps of his career.

“Borussia Dortmund are now pushing me to make a decision about things,” Haaland said.

“But I just want to play football. That probably means that I will soon have to get things started.

“I never spoke until now to respect the club.”

Dortmund shelled out just £17.1million to sign Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg at the start of 2020 after meeting his release clause.

And the 21-year-old has been a revelation in Germany.

Haaland has racked-up a staggering 78 goals in 77 games for Dortmund and has proved too hot for even the best defenders in the league to handle.

This season he has already scored 15 goals and contributed six assists in the Bundesliga to help his side climb to second in the table.

And he could soon find himself on the move as the European powerhouses circle.

Haaland is reportedly being targeted by a whole host of clubs, who would love to have the scoring machine banging in the goals for them.

The Red Devils are long-time admirers of the youngster and will surely do all they can to tempt the Norway international to Old Trafford in the summer.

In Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani, United’s two main strikers are coming to the end of their careers.

And Haaland’s signature could be the catalyst to reinvigorate the club and help them compete for domestic and European honours for years to come.

But United will face fierce competition from Premier League rivals Manchester City as well as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, who are also closely monitoring the player.

Haaland is contracted to stay at Dortmund until the summer of 2024.

But, according to Marca, he has a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave this summer for £62.5million

And that figure represents excellent value for a player who has proven he can score goals wherever he plays.
