Man Utd remain confident of tying Tahith Chong down to a new deal despite interest in the youngster from Barcelona.
Chong is out of contract at the end of the season and has so far stalled over committing his future to United.
The midfielder is being tracked closely by Barcelona , as well as Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan.
But the Sun report United believe they will see off outside interest and persuade Chong to remain at Old Trafford in the long term.
The 20-year-old is already thought to have held talks with potential suitors, and was seen with Inter chiefs earlier this year.
Chong has only made 10 appearances in United's first-team so far this season, but he remains part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans.
Solskjaer's track record of blooding the youngsters since his arrival at United should stand him in good stead with Chong, who is desperate to show his credentials.
Should the Dutchman leave the club however, United have already made plans to strengthen their midfield.
Jack Grealish is one of the Red Devils' prime transfer targets this summer, and Solskjaer has already convinced Nemanja Matic to extend his stay at United.
