Man City make Haaland a priority, Sterlings U-turn

As Manchester City look to retain the Premier League and secure their first UEFA Champions League, manager Pep Guardiola will be looking to add some extra firepower to his ranks.

Despite having watched his side easily dispatch Swindon Town in the FA Cup third round on Friday night, Guardiola will know that there are a lot of games left to play and nothing is won in January.

Keeping players on their toes will be a priority and replacing Ferran Torres, who left for Barcelona, will be key.

As will replacing Sergio Aguero who left for the Spanish giants last summer, with Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland the player Guardiola has honed in on the club's future striker.

Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Manchester City transfer news below.

Haaland is the summer priority

Manchester City have settled on Borussia Dortmund's star striker Erling Haaland has their number one summer signing.

Having failed to secure the services of Tottenham's Harry Kane last summer, Pep Guardiola will be eager to not make it two years in a row where the club fail to bring in a marquee striker.

The Athletic have reported that the club will make it their priority to sign the Norwegian and win the race for arguable the best young striker in world football.

With a £64million release clause, City will know that every club around Europe will be looking to make a bid and that getting ahead of the queue could be the difference in bringing Haaland to the Etihad Stadium as a player or as an opponent.

The report adds that City will look to get a head start and open up talks over the next few weeks.

Brazilian wonderkid on radar

It's never to early to prepare for the future and Man City are ensuring that their success lasts for decades as they look to beat their rivals to 15-year-old Endrick.

Yahoo Esportes report that City have contacted Palmerias alongside Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Having scored 165 in 169 games for the club's youth sides, Endrick followed that up with two goals in the prestigious Brazilian Sao Paulo Junior Cup comprised of players under 20.

Endrick could follow compatriot Kayky to the club, though City will want to complete a deal before he signs a professional deal with Palmerias when he turns 16.
