Romelu Lukaku celebrated his goal against Arsenal with a cheeky celebration in front of the home fans on his Chelsea return.
The Belgium striker put his finger to his mouth to shush the crowd, after his 15th-minute goal silenced the Emirates.
The Gunners had started brightly but could not handle the £97million man, as he played to his strengths to edge Thomas Tuchel’s side ahead.
In the build-up, Lukaku initially did well to hold up the ball and play it back to Mateo Kovacic, who passed out wide to find Reece James bombing forward.
The full-back then whipped a ball across the face of goal, with the returning striker easily tapping it home, after powering his way into the box, out muscling Pablo Mari.
A cheeky celebration immediately followed in front of the home fans, as he ran to the corner to enjoy the moment with his new team-mates.
Lukaku suffered plenty of criticism during his time at Manchester United, and now back in the Premier League after his prolific spell with Inter Milan, he fully intends to silence his doubters.
Later in the half, James turned from creator to scorer, as he found the top left corner from a tight angle.
Heading into the game there were fears over the defence of Mikel Arteta’s side, following last week’s 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Brentford.
Matters were made worse prior to the game as Ben White was ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19.
