Romelu Lukaku is bucking the trend with his impressive goalscoring exploits for Inter Milan in Serie A since quitting Manchester United last summer, according to Luis Figo.
The former Real Madrid and Barcelona star has been impressed with how rapidly Lukaku has adapted to life in Serie – a league which is traditionally very defensively minded.
Lukaku arrived at the San Siro from United last summer in a £70m deal after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Belgium international has netted 23 times in all competitions for the Nerazzurri this season, and former Inter winger Figo says he is impressed with how he has overcome the obstacles in his path.

“He has been fantastic this year. He is happy, and I think you notice it,” Figo said to Belgian newspaper L’Avenir.
“He scores a lot, it helps if the team is solid and believe in their chances of winning the Scudetto.
“There are many differences between Serie A and the Premier League, but he doesn't surprise me.
“When you have a sense of goal like that, you will always score, even if you play in China.

“In theory, it is more difficult to score in Italy than in England, because there is less space and the teams are tactically stronger, but he is doing a great job.”
Antonio Conte's side are eight points off pace-setters Lazio but have two games in hand with which to close the gap.
Lukaku recently revealed that Conte’s no-nonsense approach to man-management is getting the best out of his game.
“I remember one of my first Champions League games against Slavia Prague when I played really bad – like I was trash that day – and I really got it from him in front of the whole team,” the former Everton hitman told Sky Sports.
