Liverpool prepare swap deal, get Henderson boost but Fulham eye youngster

With less than a month to the start of the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on improving his Liverpool team as the Reds look to take back the title from Manchester City.

A mis-firing forward line was a major problem for the German boss last campaign and so options up top are the priority in the transfer market.

After the acquisition of Ibrahima Konate, The Reds defensive worries look a thing of the past, with Dutch powerhouse Virgil Van Dijk also back from injury.

Here's the latest from Daily Star Sport about Liverpool's dealings in the transfer market…

Reds prepare swap deal for Malen

Klopp is keen to acquire a striker to ease the pressures off star men Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The Eyptian King and the Senegal sensation scored 31 and 16 goals respectively in all competitions last season but Diogo Jota was the only other Liverpool man to hit double figures as the Reds struggled in front of goal.

Now Portuguese outlet O Jogo report that Klopp is preparing a swap deal for PSV forward Donyell Malen with midfielder Marko Grujic set to be transferred the other way.

The 22-year-old scored 19 goals in 32 apperances in the Eredivise last season and the flying Dutchman can also play on the left-hand side; his versatility could be a huge asset to Liverpool.

Whereas the writing looks to be on the wall for Grujic who has been told he will be sold this summer. The 25-year-old has started just eight Premier League matches.

Klopp's Henderson Boost

Liverpool have been handed a boost in trying to tie down skipper Jordan Henderson to a new long-term contract.

The 31-year-old's current deal expires in 2023 and the Reds are keen to avoid another Gini Wijnaldum situation and let their captain leave on a free in two-years time.

Despite no progress being made on Henderson's contract so far, a statement from 2018 has re-emerged in the Express about his love for the club:

"There is no other place in the world I would rather play football. I want to be here for as long as I can be," said the Reds skipper when signing his previous deal.

Fulham eye youngster

Recently-relegated Fulham are preparing a £15 million-pound bid for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

The 24-year-old spent last season on-loan at Championship side Cardiff City where he notched seven goals and claimed 12 assists.

Now Goal are claiming that Fulham are ready to match the Reds' £15 million valuation as the Cottagers look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
