Mohamed Salah’s team-mates at Liverpool are convinced that he remains fully committed to the club, with the Egyptian forward in talks over a deal to extend his stay until the summer of 2025, according to reports. Salah has played a hugely important role for the Reds over the last few years, with his goals firing Jurgen Klopp’s side to Premier League and Champions League glory.
He ended last season as the club’s top scorer, finding the net on 31 occasions in all competitions, and got off the mark against Norwich City on Saturday to open his account for the new campaign at the first opportunity.
Salah will be expected to maintain his stellar form over the coming months in order to help Liverpool mount a renewed assault on the Premier League’s upper reaches.
Although the 29-year-old is undoubtedly one of the Merseyside outfit’s most coveted assets, his future at the club is currently far from certain.
His contract is set to expire at the end of next season and it has been suggested that a move away from Anfield in the near future could be a real possibility.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have previously been credited with an interest in Salah, who refused to rule out a potential La Liga switch when quizzed on the topic last year.

However, the general consensus in Liverpool’s dressing room is that he will stay and commit to a new deal with the six-time European champions, according to The Athletic.
The report states that Salah has not discussed the situation with his team-mates, but they are confident that he will remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
It is claimed that negotiations have already begun over a new deal that would be the most expensive in Liverpool’s history.
Salah will reportedly be offered a two-year extension on top of his existing contract, which is worth around £200,000 per week.
Discussions between Liverpool and the player’s representatives have been described as ‘productive’, suggesting that he could soon follow the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold in pledging his long-term future to the Reds.
The club are said to be planning to reward Salah for his incredible consistency with an increased wage to reflect his importance to the side.
However, it is said that Liverpool will not pay over the odds to keep hold of their man, who they consider to be one of the best players in the world.
Meanwhile, former England winger Trevor Sinclair recently urged the Reds to hand Salah a blank cheque, with the 48-year-old suggesting that he deserves to be the club’s highest-paid player.
“He is a great player and a great goalscorer and unless Liverpool want to risk losing him, they’ve got to give him top dollar,” Sinclair told talkSPORT earlier this week.
“Because I feel he deserves it. I think he’s their best player, I really do. We’re talking about Liverpool, so the top earner at Liverpool would be Van Dijk, he’s got to be superseding that.
“He’s a goalscorer. It’s much more difficult to score goals than it is to do anything else on a football pitch and he does that easily.”
