Liverpool fans in panic mode as Thiago blow leaves ‘half the team injured again’

Liverpool fans are facing massive concerns over injuries for the second season running as Thiago became the latest player in the Reds squad to suffer a blow.

Jurgen Klopp's side continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon which took them top of the Premier League table.

They've picked up 13 points from their first five games and also beat AC Milan in the Champions League, but it's not all been going their way.

Injuries have once again plagued their squad and during the second half of the Palace match midfielder Thiago was forced to limp off.

Panic mode set in for Liverpool fans, with one tweeting: "Five games in the season and half of our team is already injured. Top Reds must be enjoying not signing midfielders and attackers."

Another commented: "Please god don't be anything serious."

The club's lack of activity in the summer transfer window was a common theme in the responses: "No signings needed tho Reds?"

Thiago will likely join Roberto Firmino, who suffered a hamstring injury against Chelsea in August, and Harvey Elliott, who will be out long-term, on the sidelines.

Should Reds fans be worried? Let us know in the comments section.

Elliott sustained a fractured ankle against Leeds last week and the club have refused to put a timeframe on his return following a successful surgery.

Concerns have also heightened because of the omission from the starting XI at Anfield of first choice full-backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Robertson was rested and named on the bench but Alexander-Arnold was not included in the squad altogether due to illness.

The injuries will give Reds fans flashbacks to the horror story of last season where several first team stars were sidelined.

Their schedule features four games in the next two weeks before the international break which everyone at the club will hope will pass without further knocks.

Klopp provided an update on Thiago, telling LFCTV: "He felt the calf. I don't know right now but we hope it is not too serious. It would be great if he could get some good news on that."
