Liverpool fans are growing concerned that transfer target Karim Adeyemi’s value will skyrocket, thus putting him out of range by the time the January window opens. The youngster scored two goals for RB Salzburg against Lille during Wednesday’s Champions League action, breaking a long-standing record in the process.
At just 19-year-old, Adeyemi became the youngest German to score a Champions League brace in the competition’s history.
The previous record was held by a certain Thomas Muller, who has gone on to have a distinguished career since.
Adeyemi’s double, both from the penalty spot, secured a precious 2-1 victory for RB Salzburg over Lille.
The victory leaves them top of Group G and with a great chance of advancing to the knockout rounds.

In what is proving to be an incredible conveyor belt of talent out in Austria, Adeyemi is merely the next up in a long line of attacking talent to come out of RB Salzburg.
Erling Haaland took his talents to Borussia Dortmund in 2020 and now has virtually all of Europe fighting over his signature ahead of a blockbuster transfer race in 2022.
Patson Daka stepped up to the plate in his absence, getting a big-money move to Leicester this summer.
Although the Zambian has not yet been given the chance to impress under Brendan Rodgers, he has looked lively on occasion and is expected to grasp responsibility once Jamie Vardy slows down.

The teenage Adeyemi has taken on the goals burden with conviction this campaign, bagging 10 in 14 games so far and three in the Champions League.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a fan, although the January window cannot come soon enough if he continues on this form.
Liverpool fans could see both sides to the story on Twitter, admiring the player they could soon have their hands on but expressing concern that his rise to stardom could make their lives difficult.
“Karim Adeyemi will probably be £85m in the next few years and if we miss out now we will regret it big time in the future,” said Mobyhaque1.
Deanregan_added: “Seeing Adeyemi score but then realising them [RB Salzburg] going through means we won’t get him in January.”
Indeed, in light of his current performances, Adeyemi is well on his way to becoming a household name, so the Reds must act quickly.
A Salzburg triumph in the group stages could make life trickier still, with the Austrian side sure to be keen on retaining their top talent until their European adventure concludes.
If that turns out to be the case, Liverpool may have to pay an extra premium to land him, but they would be wise not to miss a golden opportunity to refresh their ageing front line.
