Liverpool and Chelsea both believe Jadon Sancho has what it takes to become one of the best players of the decade, according to reports. Manchester United remain interested in signing Sancho after refusing to pay Borussia Dortmund’s £108million asking price last summer. However, they are set to face strong competition from their Premier League rivals.

Sancho has been unable to replicate his form from last season this term.

The England international has six goals and nine assists to his name in 23 Bundesliga appearances.

However, that does not appear to have put off the top clubs in England.

German outlet Bild claim Liverpool and Chelsea are both in for Sancho this summer as they feel he can be one of the world’s best in the coming years.

Bild quote Dortmund’s asking price for Sancho at around £86.6m (€100m), considerably less than what they wanted last summer.

The report says Dortmund are giving teams a discount due to the financial impact of the coronavirus.

Sancho’s team-mate Erling Haaland is also linked with a move to the likes of United and Chelsea.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc claimed at the weekend the club have an agreement to let Sancho leave, but do not with Haaland.

“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,” Zorc told ARD.

“He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling.”

Haaland has a release clause in his contract of around £65m which does not become active until 2022.

But despite Dortmund’s stance that the Norwegian is not for sale, his agent Mino Raiola insists that could change before the end of the summer window.

“What we know as of today is that Dortmund spoke extremely solemnly to us and said: ‘We are not selling him’. That’s the situation, definitely,” Raiola told Spanish outlet AS.

“That’s what they’ve said. Now let’s see if that desire is still there through to the 1st of September.

“Today, the official stance of Dortmund is this. But I’ve got another view, I think that if a good opportunity comes up and everyone would be happy, we’ll put it on the table.

“Haaland is interested in two things: Scoring goals, because he’s a little bit like Cristiano [Ronaldo] or Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]… it’s his obsession, in a positive way. And winning titles.

“No doubt he’ll pick somewhere where he feels those two things go together best for him.”
