Gareth Southgate faces a huge selection dilemma with a host of high-profile England players facing the axe.

Southgate names his squad for England’s final World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino boosted by the return of as many as seven players who missed out on his previous party.

Harry Maguire, Reece James, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Marcus Rashford, Kalvin Phillips, Jude Bellingham and Mason Greenwood are now available.

That leaves Southgate with the unenviable task of having to omit a number of his biggest names.

Manchester United duo Jesse Lingard and Jadon Sancho appear to be at risk. Lingard has played just 18 minutes of football since the last international break, while Sancho has made just one start since playing in the 5-0 win in Andorra.

Ollie Watkins, Tammy Abraham and James Ward-Prowse are also among those sweating on places.

Tyrone Mings may also be vulnerable after losing his place in the Aston Villa side. Under 21 stars Emile Smith Rowe of Arsenal and Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher could be promoted.

A football fan who racially abused Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka after the Euro 2020 final has been jailed. Jonathon Best, 52, was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.
