Leeds United midfielder Stuart Dallas has signed a new-three contract to commit his future at the club until 2024.

A statement from Leeds said: ‘Leeds United are delighted Stuart Dallas has today agreed a new contract with the club.

‘The Northern Ireland international has penned a three-year deal, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2024.’

It went on to add: ‘Under head coach Marcelo Bielsa who arrived at the club in 2018, Dallas has flourished playing in a variety of positions across the team.

‘Missing just one league match in the 2019/20 campaign, Dallas helped the Whites secure the Sky Bet Championship title and was voted the Players’ Player of the Year.’

Dallas, a Northern Ireland international, scored eight goals and picked up two assists last campaign, with Leeds catching the eye after returning from the Championship.

The versatile 30-year-old also won Goal of the Season for his memorable match-winning strike against Manchester City in April.

To cap off his rapid rise at Elland Road, Dallas was named as the Players’ Player of the Year once again and Player of the Year.

Leeds finished ninth on their return to the Premier League, just outside the European spots, and Dallas says he is eager to help the club move in the right direction.

‘I am delighted to sign a new deal with the club. This is always a place where I have wanted to play my football,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘Obviously, I had a great season last year and the club have decided that they wanted to give me a new contract, so I am over the moon with that.

‘My family is happy over here as well. Last season was a great season, but it is important that we continue to progress now.’

Dallas has made 229 appearances in total for Leeds and won 56 international caps.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa previously likened Dallas to all-time Inter Milan great Javier Zanetti because of his current star’s ability to play in a variety of positions.

An integral player at Elland Road, Dallas has made 229 appearances in total for the club so far

‘I had a player like Dallas, Javier Zanetti, and also Julio Saldana, who I had when I first managed at Newell’s,’ Bielsa said.

‘Those two players are very like Dallas in terms of their versatility.

‘Dallas is a very potent, powerful player. He can play with either foot, his right or his left, he’s good at defending.’
